Pre-Marriage Course

Pre-Marriage Course (PMC) equips couples before their marriage with a realistic perception of marriage as they walk through the course with the PMC facilitator/mentor. It also provides a platform for couples to highlight to the PMC facilitator/mentor potential issues which may arise in their marriage and thereby seek appropriate advice to cope with the issues should they be faced with the problem. PMC therefore strives to serve as a prelude to an enriching, fulfilling and growing marriage.

Why PMC?
PMC equips couples before their marriage with a realistic perception of marriage as they walk through the course with the PMC facilitator/mentor.

The Course
Conducted in small groups of not more than 8 couples per group, PMC spans 6, 3-hour sessions.  During the course, each couple will meet up with the PMC facilitator/mentor for 2 mentoring sessions before their final interview with the Family Life Pastor.

Topics covered during the PMC are as follows:
Session 1 Origins & foundation of Christian marriage
Session 2 Personality Profiling
Session 3 Roles of Husband & Wife
Session 4 Communication
Session 5 Sex in Marriage
Session 6 Finances, Devotion time & Family planning

Couples who would like to be married by COOS are advised to commence on their wedding arrangements only after they receive the letter informing them that they have successfully completed their PMC. They will also need to fill up and submit a separate form "COOS - Application to be married by Church Of Our Saviour". This form can be obtained from the Admin counter upon request.

Starting from 2015, couples who signed up will be paired up with a marriage mentor couple from the Family Life Ministry to walk them through the first year of their marriage.

Where to sign up?
Each couple who intends to marry, is required to submit PMC application to the Admin counter form obtainable from the "Take One Rack" or the administration desk in the foyer before or after our Saturday or Sunday services and submit to the church office.

Post-Marriage Course

Marriage Building Blocks is intended for couples that have been married for 3 years or less.  Held every 6 months, this event serves to follow up with couples after their PMC and their wedding.

Why the need for a Post PMC event?

  • To encourage married couples to be united in love
  • To have the full understanding of God’s intention for marriage
  • To help married couples assess their marriage relationships
  • To build couple support groups so that newly married couples know that they are not alone in this journey
  • To help married couples divorce-proof their marriages

What happens during a Post PMC event?

  • Conduct marital checkup surveys
  • Sharing on the 7 principles that make a marriage work
  • Group discussion
  • Fellowship through Hi-Tea

How to sign up?
Please register at the Admin Counter during our weekend services.  We will email you a month before the event to confirm your availability and provide you with details of the event.
